How booking works

Book a Sumba Trip in Four Steps

Registration is open at any time, with no deadline. Your date depends on accommodation being available.

  1. Choose a trip and date

    A private trip runs on any date while accommodation is available; the open trip departs every Thursday in 2026.

  2. Pay the deposit

    Pay at least 50% to secure your date. Booking within 14 days of the trip means paying 100% at once.

  3. Confirm on WhatsApp

    Send the transfer receipt on WhatsApp to +62 811 9941 919 with the names and ages of all travellers, a mobile number, the number of travellers and the pick-up and drop-off locations.

  4. Settle the balance

    Pay the balance no later than 14 days before departure.

Travellers are deemed to understand and agree to these terms after registering.

Reservation

  1. 1 Private trips run on the date you choose, as long as accommodation is still available.
  2. 2 Payment is made in two stages: a deposit of at least 50%, then the balance no later than 14 days before departure.
  3. 3 If you register less than 14 days before the trip, you pay 100% at once.
  4. 4 Confirm the payment on WhatsApp to +62 811 9941 919 with the transfer receipt and the travellers' details: names and ages, mobile number, number of travellers, pick-up location and drop-off location.
  5. 5 Registration can be done at any time, with no deadline, depending on accommodation availability.
  6. 6 Every trip is documented, and each traveller agrees to be filmed and photographed. The footage may be used for social media promotion; tell our admin on WhatsApp if you would rather not appear.

Terms and conditions

  1. 1 This trip requires a lot of physical activity. Please make sure you are fit.
  2. 2 Everyone must follow the rules of each destination and the guide's rules.
  3. 3 Illegal drugs, narcotics, firearms and anything that could harm yourself or others under Indonesian law are prohibited.
  4. 4 At the trip locations, travellers help each other and keep the group together.
  5. 5 Littering and anything that damages nature are strictly forbidden, as is damaging trip facilities or documentation equipment.
  6. 6 With a history of asthma, hypertension, heart disease, acute gastritis, diabetes, epilepsy, sinusitis or similar, consult a doctor first and bring your personal medicines.
  7. 7 Bring enough changes of clothes, trekking shoes or sandals, and preferably a water-resistant daypack.
  8. 8 Sumba is quite hot, so a hat, sunglasses and sunblock are advised. Telkomsel has the best signal, and a power bank is advised.
  9. 9 Bring a hard disk, not a flash drive, to copy the documentation files: usually over 32 GB, copied on day 3.
  10. 10 Safety comes first: if the weather turns unfavourable, parts of the itinerary are changed for everyone's safety.

Arrival and return

  1. 1 Arrive the day before, or on a flight that lands at Tambolaka before 12.00 on day one.
  2. 2 Fly home the day after the trip if you can. If you fly on the last day, choose any available flight, but the itinerary cannot be changed to fit it.

Cancellation

  1. 1 If you cancel, the deposit is forfeited: it is not refunded and cannot be moved to another trip or date, but you can pass your place to someone else.
  2. 2 If force majeure (natural disasters, bad weather, riots, disease outbreaks, government rules or other circumstances beyond anyone's control) changes or cancels a trip, there is no refund for unused facilities.
  3. 3 Travellers who arrive late at the meeting point, delaying the itinerary for everyone else, are deemed to have withdrawn, with no refund.

Responsibility

  1. 1 We are not liable for flight changes or cancellations, or for baggage damaged, lost or delayed by airlines, hotels or other transport providers; nor for loss of or damage to personal belongings, or itinerary changes caused by force majeure.
  2. 2 Travellers pay for any loss of or damage to trip facilities, at the item's price.
  3. 3 Travellers follow the tour leader's instructions and do not make decisions on their own without our consent.
  4. 4 Anyone found with illegal drugs, or causing disturbances that inconvenience other travellers, may be removed or sent back without a refund.
